Frequently Asked Questions

We do not have any restrictions. BUT, very young children, the  elderly, and those with limited mobility may find it too challenging.  Also, although we welcome all players, there are certain trails that are not  very wheelchair friendly

You will want to wear comfortable shoes.   You don’t need to  be in tip-top physical shape to compete, but the race is mostly on  foot; so you have to be prepared to do some walking (or running,  depending upon how competitive you are). You will also encounter a trail in the Great Smokey Mountain's National Park.  Although there are plenty of places in town to grab a snack or a drink, we suggest doing that before or after the race to keep you from being slowed down.  

All teams will be provided with a  link to Amazing Gatlinburg Race “mission  control.” If you need help with a clue and/or challenge, you can call  mission control. We can give you additional clues or "ideas" to help solve the Mystery or complete the challenge.  We will also have Secret Agents looking out for you in many places.

The most successful teams have a variety of skills and are able to work  together. There are times more heads are better and times more of a challenge.  Working together is the key.  We’ve had winning teams of two, and winning teams of ten. Team  size doesn’t matter.

You get to be the WINNER!!!  Typically the winning team receives medals and bragging rights. You will also get a full resolution digital image of your team and be featured on our Facebook page (unless you prefer otherwise).  Second  and third place teams get prizes and a sense of pride.  All teams, regardless of where they  finish, enjoy a completely unique experience, some really cool and  unusual off the beaten path Gatlinburg  attractions, and the post-game awards ceremony. This will give you the opportunity to share your experiences with other racers.  

Call to secure your race time.  All players will be met at a designated spot (determined by weather)  by an Amazing Gatlinburg Race Special Agent.  Teams will be given a brief explanation, contact information for mission control, team Badges and any tools you might need to prepare you for the race.  All teams will then be given their first clue and begin their  unforgettable experience in Gatlinburg.  GOOD LUCK!
